When is the best time to water lawn?

Water early in the morning (around 5am to 7am). Early evening or after sunset watering will promote fungus and mildew. Some recommend to water the lawn deeply and irregularly. Scotts say 1/2″ twice a week. Light watering promotes shallow roots which results unhealthy plant that won’t survive in hot weather.

The Permit is ready!

Construction01.jpg

The construction is under its way. They dug a big hole in the backyard. This is the place the master bedroom is gonna be. So, we will have another six months to go, having the workers hanging around in the back yard. And the most amazing of all: Now, Mammad’s got to get up around 9am!

I’ll keep you posted.

How about a HOT Picnic at Huddart Park

Zack&Marina.jpg Marina-Stella.jpg

We are just back from Huddart park. Nice place, but boy it was really hot (102F). We were passing around the water spray to keep the temprature down, thanks to the Steinkamp family for such a great idea. But being around sweet freinds made it all up for the heat, especially the presence of the two little angels!

My Favorite Yogurt Dessert

Ingredients: 4 tspns unflavoured gelatine, 1 1/2 cups whipping cream, 1/2 cup fine sugar, 2 1/4 cups plain yogurt, 1 tspn pure vanilla essence

Sprinkle gelatine over 1/4 cup cold water and allow to stand for approx. 10 minutes.

In a sucepan, combine whipping cream and sugar. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Stir in gelatine. Remove saucepan from heat and stir until gelatine is dissolved. Place mixture in a large bowl and allow to cool approx. 5 minutes.

Whisk in the yogurt and vanilla essence. Combine well.

Rinse the mould with cold water. Pour in mixture and chill at least 4 hours or overnight. When the mixture is in the mould you can drop some blueberries in it.
When ready to unmould it, immerse the mould in a little very hot water for a few seconds.

Serve with rasberry sauce (made from frozen rasberries and little sugar in blender.

P.S. I have tried the silicon moulds and they work perfect!
